The meticulous attention to detail involved in releasing a bottle of wine each vintage is staggering when analyzing each step in the process. For the Rudd Oakville Estate Red, this process starts with pruning the vines in January, to bottling the final blend almost two years later, to finally releasing the wine four years after the entire process was started.

Each bottle receives more than 360 unique handlings in the journey from the vine to your doorstep. For the 2016 Rudd Oakville Estate Red, we selected highlights chronicling the growing season, harvest, winegrowing, blending, and bottling – each step in the process unique and critical to making the best wine possible from our land.

From our mountain estate, we will also be releasing the 2018 Rudd Mt. Veeder Estate Sauvignon Blanc – a special wine to each of us. A wine that lets us express how great Sauvignon Blanc can be when grown on a unique site with a clear vision of its path to bottle. Given the same attention to detail and care as our red wines, we release this Sauvignon Blanc alongside our flagship wine as we believe it’s one of the great white wines in the world.

We hope you enjoy seeing the details of the life of this vintage as much as we enjoyed living it.

All the best,

Samantha Rudd
